Pastor Trevor Edinborough described the event as follows:
The aim of the event: to officially dedicate the ministry to God and to begin the work of spreading the gospel and reaching the local and wider community for Jesus, in accordance with the great commission Mathew 28:16-20.
The Outcome: 'Pastor Trevor Edinborogh and the deacons; Janet Edinborough, Shirley Stapleton and Denise Joseph were all dedicated to the service of the Lord and the church in the company of members, friends and visitors, by the Rev Cannon, Christian Weaver.'
It’s Purpose: 'To establish a church that demonstrates true love, Gods Love and a willingness to un-selflessly serve others. The Scriptures teaches us to put down self and selfishness and allow our hearts and minds to be filled and controlled by love. As a Christian’s believers we are to love God and each other as He loves us. God manifested His love by the gift of His Son to be our Redeemer and the Redeemer of the whole world. Jesus demonstrated His love by the willing sacrifice of His earthly life as a ransom for all, as we were condemned to death because of sin.
Because we are overwhelmed by such love we too will delight in the privilege of serving others, as one of the sweetest joys of the Christian is experienced in self-sacrificing efforts to help others and to exercise true Love, Gods Love.'

Daniela and Gregory is an international love story where they crossed the Atlantic Ocean to pursue their dreams eventually settling in the UK. Daniela is from the USA and Gregory from here in the UK.
The ceremony took place in the beautiful and stately Mount St. Mary's Memorial Chapel which is within the grounds of Mount St Mary's College. This beautiful location was matched by the reception venue the glorious Chatsworth House.
The day itself was a relaxed affair with a genuine loving couple enjoying one their most important day's of their lives.
Enjoy.

As defined above The Walima is a gathering of wedding guests to feast in celebration of the wedding which, on this occasion, happened two days before (see Part Two). This event is hosted by the Groom’s family with the Bride’s family and friends as guests.
It was held at The Athena in Leicester which is an old grand cinema converted into an opulent space for weddings, dining and conferences.
The Walima is a simple affair. The guests arrive. The Couple arrive with the usual fanfare - drums and music. They sit on a stage where the guests are invited to congratulate them and share more gifts. Then everyone eats, the cake is cut and then it’s all over. Except on this occasion they was an impromptu dancing session at the end which - as you can see - the Couple and the guests really enjoyed.
Enjoy.

The Baraat is the Groom’s journey on the wedding day where he receives a blessing from an Imam (as well as the Bride in separate ceremony).
The day starts from the Groom’s family home where portrait shots are taken of him with his family and close friends. Then he leaves his home with much fanfare (drummers and dancing) and begins his journey to marry his Wife at wedding location. The wedding day is responsibility of the Bride’s family who are essentially hosting the event with the Groom and family as guests.
There are several key events during this day they include the Groom and family being welcomed by the Bride’s family at the wedding location, the Groom and family negotiating an entrance ‘fee’ into the building with the Bride’s family, the Groom sitting next the the Bride and the emotional exit of the Bride as she leaves her family and begins a new life with her Husband.
The pictures below capture these key moments of Asif’s wedding which started in his family home in Nottingham then traveling north up to Nelson in Lancashire for the wedding ceremony.
Enjoy.....
In April I was commissioned to cover Asif's wedding which was to be held over three days in three different locations. The Mehndi ceremony is mainly a ladies function held a few days before the wedding. Female friends, family members and relatives of the Bride come together to celebrate the upcoming wedding.
Asif, the Groom, had his own Mehndhi ceremony in Nottingham. Attended by his male friends, family members and relatives he had a glorious entrance accompanies by drummers, traditional dance and sung folk songs. Whether Bride or Groom events, the Mehndi usually has a festive touch of celebration where bright colours are worn by guests and the Groom.
Below are key moments captured at this initial stage of Asif's wedding.
The event featured several acts including Roy's band Performance of which Roy was the frontman. Roy's nephew's band, Black Rose Garden also featured - all of whom are just 14. Tony 'Doggen' Foster, Roy's brother also performed along with local artist Just Ben who also hosted the event with DJ Adam Jay supporting with classic music for the large crowd in attendance.

"Today, the scene has spread across the entire globe and as well as the spread of the extreme right-wing element, there are also skins of every colour and creed imaginable. Skinhead isn't specifically about white boys and it never was - it's more than that and anyone who thinks this isn't the case doesn't know enough about the history and the soul of skinhead. As one West Indian told me -
'The skins when we were at school (late 70s/early eighties) weren't just white kids, there were black skins as well but it wasn't about race - they kicked anybody who wasn't a skinhead.'" No Whites; No Rudies; No Blacks; No Skins

I'm not one for really writing much in my blogs but on this occasion I must say that these two, Lorna and Harry, really, really, really loved each other. I was a blessing to cover their day.
Wonderful.

This event invites people to 'sleep rough' overnight with whilst rising money for the Charity. It provides a unique and rewarding opportunity to feel part of something special whilst giving the chance to reflect on what it might be like to sleep rough in Nottingham.
I documented the arrival of volunteer participants and the building of their cardboard homes.
